"..she caught him by his garment, saying, "Lie with me." But he left his garment in her hand, and fled and ran outside." -Genesis 39:12
The way Joseph handled sexual temptation from Potiphar's wife illustrates for us today how we should handle temptation also. I am pretty sure Potiphar's wife was an attractive woman and I'm sure Joseph if he would of given in no one would've found out (for a time). However Joseph was a man who feared and revered God above all else. His desire was not to please his own flesh above His own God. Sin can be sticky especially sexual sin, I read an article recently on this...
"The scripture says when we sin sexually, we sin against our own body. What happens is you get these endorphins, hit the excitement center of your brain, then BOOM, you literally glue to whatever you're looking at," (http://www1.cbn.com/cbnnews/us/2016/January/Why-This-Addiction-Is-Harder-Than-Any-Other-to-Break/)
I believe that whatever we see or do sexually can hook us and keep us there for the long run. Kinda like a drug addiction, always looking to get the initial rush that was experienced the very first time you tried it. This is why we must be careful to burn the bridges with sin lest we fall into it again and again. You see sin doesn't need a two-weeks notice, you gotta quit now! Let us learn from Joseph and run away from sticky situations and people that are sure to bring us down and keep us bound if we stick around!
