"A woman of Samaria came to draw water. Jesus said to her, "Give Me a drink." –John 4:7
Our Lord Jesus Christ is the master of evangelism, by His actions and inactions we can learn how to and how not to reach people with the gospel. Jesus was never a one method kind of a guy, He was unconventional by most modern evangelistic standards. He was never coercive or pushy, but He was direct and to the point with those He spoke to.
The Samaritan woman came to know Christ personally but it started with a simple conversation–one that Jesus initiated! Don’t wait for others to make the first move, have faith and make the first move. Don’t let conversations start themselves–sometimes they don’t–you make the first move.
Jesus was thirsty and He needed a drink she had something He needed, but He had something she needed desperately. We will never know what could be if we don’t engage in conversation. God can use you to reach your barber while you’re getting a haircut, your mailman while getting the mail, or your neighbor while you're borrowing some sugar. The possibilities will always be there, your job is to turn possibilities into opportunities by conversation. Make your first move and let His words guide your words.
