"Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God," -2 Corinthians 1:1
Growing up I always wanted to be either a professional soccer player for the Mexican national league or a stealth fighter pilot for the U.S. Air Force. Today at 31 I am neither of those things, but I am passionate about what I do and have confirmed my calling as a pastor. For a minute I thought the Lord was leading me to be a Registered Nurse but then He confirmed to me that the medical field was not where He wanted me. God equipped me and opened the door for me to be shepherd one of His churches, because of this I can confidently say that I am a pastor teacher "of Jesus Christ by the will of God", and I am satisfied in being in His will instead of my own.
Paul was an apostle by the will of God and he walked with this assurance. How about you? Maybe you're a doctor by the will of God, a homemaker, a mechanic, a builder, a waitress, a firefighter, a parent, or a police officer by the will of God? Whatever you are and do make sure that it is by the will of God and that you do it for the glory of God. If you're a barista by the will of God then serve the best cup of coffee, as if you were making it for Jesus Himself.
