"Jacob blessed Pharaoh" -Genesis 47:10
Jacob and his family had arrived in Egypt. Joseph arranged for his father Jacob to meet with Pharaoh. Jacob knew that he was being blessed of the Lord, through his son, by Pharaoh. The famine was severe in the land and Egypt was the place the Lord had led them to go as part of His divine providence. Jacob acknowledged God's hand in all of this, and blessed Pharaoh. Hebrews tell us that the lesser is blessed by the better (Heb 7:7) Whether Pharaoh knew it or not Jacob ie. Israel was greater than Pharoah and therefore it was proper for him to bless this King.
We can learn from Jacob here a very important principle. Wherever we are at we should seek to be a blessing instead of a burden to others. Regardless of whether they know who you are in Christ or not, seek to bless others. Acknowledge those that God is putting in your life to bless and seek to bless them. - We tear others down instead of building them up!
- We are overly critical, making a big deal about non-essential things!
- We seek our own before others!
- HOW CAN YOU BLESS SOMEONE TODAY TO SHOW THE LOVE OF CHRIST?
