“Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.” -James 4:10
I remember playing limbo as a kid. We would sing "how low can you go" as someone would attempt to walk under a stick while bending backwards and trying not to touch the ground. The person who would go the lowest without touching the stick (or the ground) would win. Today I am limbo challenged and probably wouldn't last very long in the game. The game Limbo is similar to the game of life. For the Christian our success doesn't lie in how high we can climb, or how much we can learn. But success is dependent on "how low you can go". Jesus said that "many who are first will be last, and the last first." (Mt 19:30). You see the lower you go the higher "He will lift you up". We do this by humbling ourselves before God. I love that I don't have to do the heavy lifting.. God does. I just have to surrender, and let go of the things I am currently holding on too so that I can grab onto the things He knows I need.
- GET ALONE AND GO ALONE BEFORE THE LORD TODAY AND SURRENDER YOURSELF, CRY OUT TO HIM AND TELL HIM TO SHOW YOU WHAT YOU NEED TO LET GO SO YOU CAN LET GOD.
- “People may spend their whole lives climbing the ladder of success only to find, once they reach the top, that the ladder is leaning against the wrong wall.” -Thomas Merton
