"Now there was leaning on Jesus' bosom one of His disciples, whom Jesus loved. 24 Simon Peter therefore motioned to him to ask who it was of whom He spoke. 25 Then, leaning back on Jesus' breast, he said to Him, "Lord, who is it?" 26 Jesus answered,.." -John 13:23-26
This little descriptive piece of scripture speaks loud and clear. In our walk with God there are three things at our reach that we must be aware of and take advantage of. For starters if we desire to have true fellowship with other believers, Jesus must be in the midst of our conversations. Sure we can do some shoptalk here and there but it must come back to Jesus if it is to be fruitful. Secondly we must ask, seek, and receive insight from those God reveals His word to. God has established pastors and leaders for a reason, and not everyone has the same gift for a reason. The church is interdependent we depend on one another for our growth. Third and most importantly Jesus is always at our reach. If we want a deeper relationship with Him we must move in closer, by leaning on Him and by talking to Him. The problem isn't that Jesus isn't speaking anymore, the problem is that many are not asking and listening anymore. Jesus loves us all but to experience more of His love we must keep Him in our conversations. We must seek counsel from those with giftings of knowledge and speaking forth God's word. And we must understand that He is always at our reach and all we have to do is draw closer to Him.
- WHY DO YOU THINK JESUS IS NOT REALLY PART OF THE CONVERSATIONS OF MANY CHRISTIANS? WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF HE WAS ON OUR LIPS JUST AS HE IS IN OUR HEARTS?
